The Writing Interest Group was originally established in 2002 within the Irish Genealogical Society International and later moved to MGS. Currently, we meet remotely on Zoom once a month, usually on the fourth Saturday from January through September and on the third Saturday in October and November (with breaks in August and December).

At monthly meetings, group members often present on topics in which they have skill and experience, such as editing, planning, publishing (or self-publishing), considering audience, scope, and purpose.  Members also have opportunities to share cases and presentations of their work. Three or four times a year, meetings are open check-ins on progress toward writing and research goals and on providing feedback on works-in-progress.  You do not need to be an expert to join the group or contribute to presentations; we are all learners and have all been beginners!
